World Geography Syllabus
Introduction:
Welcome to Mr. Archer’s World Geography class. I am excited about teaching each of you this year. This is my fourth year to teach in Burleson, but I have approximately two years of teaching experience at two other schools. I was born and mostly raised in Texas and I consider this area to be my home. I look forward to meeting each of you and hope to build a lasting relationship with any of you who would seek it.
Daily Necessary Class Supplies:
spiral notebook
blue or black ink pens
pencils
Progress Reports:
You will all receive a progress report three weeks into each six weeks grading period. Most will be e-mailed, but if you get a hard copy, you will be expected to take it home and show it to your parents. The grades your parents see on the progress report should not be a surprise to you. All you have to do is ask me and I will inform you of your academic status.
Tutorials:
Tutorial time is daily between 7:45 and 8:15am. You can also go to Y.A.L.E. Monday through Thursday after school.
Class Rules:
1. Be on time.
2. Be prepared.
3. Be nice.
Disciplinary Guidelines
1. If you cause a problem, I will ask you to solve it.
2. If you can’t solve it, or choose not to, I will do something.
3. What I will do will depend on the person and the situation.
4. I will treat you with respect and I expect the same in return.
Closing Remarks:
I love to teach. My hope is that I can finish this year having made a positive influence on all of you. Let’s have a great year together!
