Mr. Archer’s Syllabus

Welcome to my class.  I am excited about teaching and learning from each of you this year.  This is my seventh year to teach in Burleson, in addition to approximately two years of teaching experience at two Christian schools.  I look forward to getting to know each of you and hope to build a lasting relationship with any of you who would seek it.

spiral notebook
blue or black ink pens

Grades and Grading Policy:

Progress Reports:

All of my students receive a progress report about three weeks into each six weeks grading period.  Most will be e-mailed, but if you get a hard copy, you will be expected to take it home and show it to your parents.  The grades on the progress report should not be a surprise to you.  Assignments in my class are almost always graded and recorded within three days of completion, so you can login to Skyward and check them daily, or just ask me and I will inform you of your academic status.

Accessing Assignments at Home:

With budgets being cut, I cannot make extras like I have in the past, so please use this valuable resource to help you stay caught up.  I keep my web site class calendar updated with assignments in electronic form as well as study guides and PowerPoints that you can download and use at home.  Because I know there will be students who lose assignments or just forget to pick them up, it will be necessary at times to find the assignment on my class calendar and print one at home.

Tutorial times are daily between 7:45 & 8:15am and 4:00 & 4:30pm, unless I have duty.

Class Guidelines:

1. Be on time.
2. Be prepared.
3. Be nice.

Closing Remarks:

It is my goal to develop strong relationships with all of my students and their parents as well, so if you or your parents ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at  I love to teach.  My hope is that I can finish this year having made a positive influence on all of you.  Let’s have a great year together!
