                                                                                        Fourth Grade Focus
In fourth grade, students build on the skills they have learned in third grade. The level of difficulty is increased and the students are challenged to improve the quality of their work. This year students will take a Math, Reading, and Writing TAKS test. Students must be able to use grammar correctly and be able to recognize and make changes to text. In addition, students must write a two - page composition that will be scored by the state.
Students must develop a good work ethic and focus on reviewing previous skills, as they build their knowledge base to include additional information and a higher-level of comprehension.
Science will be about 75% hands on learning and we will make daily observations. Keeping a journal in class will be a great resource when preparing for fifth grade science exams.  Math this year takes giant steps and we will prepare them to be able to multiply, divide, and complete two step word problems successfully. It is quiet an under taking and we appreciate your support in making you students' days at Stribling a success and a guide to doing their personal best!
