Texas! I would never have guessed that I'd be living in Texas. Life is full of unexpected surprises. I live in Texas, but am not yet ready to call myself a Texan. This is my 5th year teaching in Burleson and my 15th year of teaching overall. Oh my! I wanted to be an astronaut when I was in elementary school but changed my mind when I was in high school. I decided to become a teacher after I helped a little girl learn how to read.
Since I moved to Texas this is what I have learned...
Frito Pie exists. I still haven't tried it.
Texas is big.
Texas has amazing sunrises and sunsets. I am amazed everyday!
The water at the beach is much warmer in Texas than in Maryland. The waves are calmer here too. I really like going to Galveston.
There is a separate pledge of allegiance to the Texas flag. I think Texas may be the only state with its own pledge.
