GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES
Basic Rules and Expectations
1.) You may engage in any behavior that does not create a problem for you or anyone else.
2.) If you find yourself with a problem, you may solve it by any means that does not cause a problem for anyone else.
3.) You may engage in behavior that does not jeopardize the safety or learning of yourself or others.  Unkind words and actions will not be tolerated.
Grading
Daily work is usually collected the next school day.  This allows you to finish work at home with no penalty.  However, if the material assigned is short, it may be graded at the end of  class. In order to notify parents, progress reports will be issued to students on a regular basis.  You may also check with the administration building to get access to your child’s grades via internet. Calculating Grade: 50% test grades/projects/writings 50% daily work
Absence Work
When you must be out of class, it is your responsibility to get any make-up work.  Assignments can be found in the class binder.  You have the number of days absent to turn in any missed work.  Work turned in after the allotted time will be treated as late work.  If your absence is more than one day, parents may request assignments by contacting the school.  Lessons are posted on the teacher’s web page.
Late Work
Work may be turned in late; however, there will be a penalty.  Points will be taken from the work ethic grade.  Students have one week to turn in any late work before it is converted to a zero.
Textbooks
Textbooks will not be used in the classroom.  Anything taken from the textbook will be copied for each child.  Students should keep all notes in their binders for reference.  Also, each child should have their own novels for annotation.
Beginning of Class
Gather needed supplies/books. Begin warm-up or read silently until teacher gives further instructions.
End of Class
Return all supplies/books in orderly fashion. Clean your work area. Wait quietly for dismissal by the teacher.
Tardies
If you are tardy, the door may already be locked.  Please knock once, and wait patiently for someone to get the door.  If you do not have a pass, you will need to sign the tardy book.  Excessive tardies will result in consequences (see student handbook).
Tutoring and Extra Hel
Advisory is a great time to ask for extra help if some is needed.  Arrangements can be made if extra help is needed outside of advisory.
