a quick explanation about NovaNET
Tuesday, September 29, 2009 9:45 AM -0500By: Robin Allard
Each module in NovaNET begins with a "pre-test".  Your student  needs to just do the best he can with what he knows already.  After the pre-test the student will be assigned tutorials based on his scores for each chapter.  Students are required to take notes during the tutorials.   After completing the tutorials he will take a mastery test.  The mastery test determines if the student gets credit for that module.  Students are welcome to use their notes from the tutorials on the mastery test.  If he scores an 80 on each track (or chapter's questions) he will receive a star and be moved forward.  If he scores anything lower than an 80 on any set of questions (graded by chapter not an overall average grade) he will get a red flag.  This will keep him from continuing in that module until I review it with the student.  We will determine if he needs to redo any modules, retake the test or move to the next module.

NovaNET is available from 4-7 in the library computer lab during Yale.  Students are also able to load NovaNET at home and work after 7pm and on weekends.
