Biography
My name is Renee Dechert. I am the Art teacher at Mound Elementary.
This is my fifteenth year as an educator in Texas public school system.
I view myself as a life long learner and solution seeker, searching for
new strategies and techniques to help ensure student achievement.
Education
I am a 1995 graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington. I participated
in UTA Education Department's CREST program from 1994-1995. I graduated
with a Bachelor Degree of Arts in English with a minor in Education. I have
attended two years of graduate school at UTA. I am currently continuing to
take college art classes to increase my art knowledge and discover new ways
to inspire students creatively.
Previous Teaching Experience
I taught for eight years in Arlington ISD. In Burleson, I worked at The Academy
at Nola Dunn for five years teaching kindergarten, first grade, reading and math
support for grades K-2nd.
Personal
I am a resident of Burleson, Texas. I am married, to my husband Carlton
of fifteen wonderful years. We have three energetic sons; Justin, Caleb and Josh.
I enjoy attending their numerous sporting activities, playing softball, gardening, visiting art museums, taking art classes and experimenting with various art media's.
