Dear Parents:
Welcome to the Bransom Art program. I am very excited about having your child in my class. Your child will be attending Art during the rotation schedule. During this time, it is my goal that your child will learn to love and appreciate art as much as I do.
Recent research has shown that students who participate in the arts (visual and creative arts, music, and drama) perform better in other fields of study. This whole-brain development helps students in developing higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and problem-solving abilities. In order to guarantee your child and all the students in my class the excellent education climate they deserve, I will be utilizing the following Classroom Procedures. With your help and support, this will be an exciting and successful year.
Classroom Procedures
Respect others.
Follow directions at all times.
Use all art supplies correctly.
Cooperate and work together.
If a student chooses to break a rule during the class period, the following consequences will occur:
If a student chooses to break the rules they may receive warnings, notes homes, phone calls to parents, grades dropping, alternative assignments, and in severe cases students will be sent to the office.
Positive Rewards
Students will be rewarded with verbal praise, positive notes and special prizes.
Art Supplies Needed (This is in addition to your child’s class supply list.)
5th grade – One (4oz) bottle of Elmers Glue
4th grade – One box of Markers 8 ct. or more (crayola brand)
3rd grade – One pkg. (12 ct.) pencils
2nd grade – One pkg, (2) glue sticks
1st grade – One box of crayons 24 ct. (crayola brand)
Kindergarten – One box of crayons 24 ct. (crayola brand)
