It's one thing to be intelligent. It's another to present yourself intelligently. Think about what you want to say; process it in your head; THEN speak. It makes a world of difference in how you sound to those around you.
You will also find that after you have corrected yourself enough times that suddenly you will begin to see and hear how much everyone else uses those words.
